Subject Lead for MFL Holyrood Academy and Uffculme Academy Trust L10-14

From 1st September 2021

Closing date: 1.00pm Friday 26th February 2021

Can you break the mould with language teaching and design a curriculum that offers our students success with language learning on an unprecedented scale?

We are looking for an expert teacher of MFL, with a track record of revolutionising pedagogy and practice who can transform our language provision at Holyrood Academy and across the Uffculme Academy Trust schools so that our students become confident and accomplished linguists.

You will have excellent knowledge of current developments in MFL teaching and curriculum design; be familiar and proficient with the work of educators like Gianfranco Conti and have a refreshing approach to languages teaching that is underpinned by research-led evidence.

You will be ambitious for the success of the linguists at Holyrood Academy and at all of our schools and will work alongside your Holyrood Team and those in our other schools to create a MFL curriculum which is transformational.

The post is split between Holyrood Academy for four days a week and one day at our other Trust schools. At Holyrood, you will be a key curriculum team leader and member of the senior leadership team at Assistant Head level. The fifth day will be spent working alongside our existing highly experienced Curriculum Team Leaders to improve and enhance both their curriculum and pedagogy.

This is a really exciting post for a candidate who passionately believes that every child is a linguist and who wants to make a difference across a number of schools. It is also a first step into senior leadership and will afford you the opportunity to work meaningfully at a whole school level.
