(TLR 1B – £9,662) FROM SEPTEMBER 2019

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Trust with an outstanding record of achievement and staff development?

Situated in Taunton, the historic county town of Somerset, The Castle School is a popular and over-subscribed academy with an enviable record of academic success over many years. Our students achieve some of the best exam results in the UK and we continue to achieve the top attendance rate in Somerset. The surrounding area boasts a range of stunning landscapes whilst still offering excellent rail and road links. Somerset is a fantastic location for families. We are very family orientated as a school and children of staff are given priority in the allocation of places.

The Trust comprises two secondary schools and a growing number of primary schools, as well as a successful and thriving Teaching School, Affinity Teaching School Alliance. We will give you opportunities to develop leadership and management, to work with some of the finest teachers in the country and to learn leadership from some of the best in the profession.

At The Castle Partnership Trust we are fortunate to have students who are motivated and enthusiastic about learning and taking part in the huge range of enrichment on offer.

Our schools are friendly and welcoming and our parents and students are always very appreciative of what staff do for them. Our belief is that every child should Achieve, Belong and Participate, and that staff should be supported to fulfil their potential and aspirations, whatever those might be.

As part of a structure change, we are looking to appoint someone to lead the Humanities Departments from September 2019. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping the teams grow and develop together as one Faculty and modernise the curriculum. There are fabulous opportunities for an ambitious teacher, but we are equally interested in experienced and proven leaders who are looking forward to a settled career leading our Humanities Faculty. We believe that an individual’s potential is as important as their experience.

The Castle Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work here to share this commitment. The successful candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS disclosures.
