An exciting opportunity to lead in the delivery of our new Personal Development provision.
In return we can offer you the opportunity to work with motivated students, the full support of a dedicated and committed team of staff, a supportive induction programme and ongoing professional development, plus the opportunity to work in a developing academy in a beautiful area of the South West. In addition to this, all permanent staff appointed to Buckler’s Mead are entitled to discounted gym membership. We also offer free on-site parking, a newly refurbished staff room and staff have 24 hour access to the ‘Care First’ advice and counselling service. The academy is an 8 times ‘Investor in People’ and candidates can be assured of excellent support at all times.
This post would suit an ambitious teacher wishing to play a crucial role in developing and leading our new Personal Development curriculum for Years 7-11. This role has come about following changes to our curriculum to offer a specialist Personal Development provision to all students as they move through the academy. We believe the Personal Development provision is absolutely essential in our aims to provide an inspiring and well-rounded education for all students. Personal Development encompasses PSHE, RSE as well as links to British Values and CEIAG. The successful candidate will lead and teach Personal Development alongside a team of Senior Leaders and Year Co-ordinators.
We welcome all applications from suitable candidates, but would also be interested in hearing from individuals who would be able to teach either/or English, a Modern Foreign Language or Design Technology alongside Personal Development.
Buckler’s Mead Academy is a highly inclusive academy in the east of Yeovil, close to the Dorset border. Our vision as an academy is an inspiring education for all where everyone enjoys their work and experience, opportunity is provided for growth and development and support is given for everyone to be successful and fulfil their potential. We are also an academy with strong community ethos, where everyone counts and no one is left behind. Our job as professionals is to ensure this happens. All our staff sign up to these aspirations and play a full role in contributing to this vision through inclusive teaching. We seek to recruit dedicated and talented staff, highly committed to making a difference.
The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to references and a full Disclosure and Barring Service check. Buckler’s Mead Academy is an equal opportunities employer. The campus is a no smoking site.
This is an exciting time to be joining Buckler’s Mead Academy as it continues to grow and develop. Interested candidates should apply in writing to Mark Lawrence, Acting Headteacher using an academy application form and with a covering letter giving details of your current experience and suitability for the role.
Thank you for your interest. We look forward to receiving your application.
