An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding Somerset Education Mental Health Support Teams. In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of early intervention mental health and well-being support for children, young people and families. This role will line manage the Educational Mental Health Practitioners (trainee and qualified practitioners) and provide day to day operational guidance, leadership and management to ensure safe and excellent quality services.
The post-holder will have a proven track record of effective project management and preferably have worked within a mental health, education, youth work or wellbeing field. This position will hold a leadership role for planning, delivery, reporting and evaluation of services.
The Practitioners in the teams are trained in the CYP/IAPT programme, providing low intensity CBT and other psycho-education interventions and will support a Whole School Approach to staff and pupil well-being. This service is jointly delivered by Young Somerset and Somerset Foundation Trust (CAMHS), working closely with Somerset County Council Education and Public Health colleagues.
