Recovery Coach (Move On) 1.0 FTE
Hours: 37hrs (1.0 FTE)
Contract Type: 6 months fixed term
Salary: £19,579 per annum (pro rata)
Second Step Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and other needs. We promote mental health and wellbeing by supporting people and communities to build brighter futures.
Step Together are excited to be offering the opportunity from someone to join our team for a short time as part of a brand new initiative with Somerset West & Taunton Council. The aim is to support those who were temporarily housed under COVID19 measures to move on in to more stable accommodation – supporting them to make that transition and reduce the likelihood of returning to rough sleeping. Initially the post if for 6 months and will be based at Canonsgrove on the outskirts of Taunton working alongside the SW&T RSI Team.
Working to the Recovery Coach Model principles, you will develop strength-based actions orientated around the Recovery Star. You will engage and support complex needs service users in leading their journeys, and to maximise their choice and control over the support they receive by developing a responsible network of support.
You will have an understanding of the issues relating to homelessness, and be able to build and sustain relationships with service users. You will have a commitment to promoting independence and supporting vulnerable people in developing move on and recovery plans.
We work in a recovery focused, psychologically informed way (PIE) in all aspects of the team’s practice using relevant interventions, including Assessments, Support Planning, Risk Assessing, Brief Interventions, Critical Time Interventions and Solution Focused Therapy.
You will receive training, and on-going supervision (operational and clinical), and be part of our reflective practice.
If you would like a chat about the role please call Rooth Langston-Hart on 07855 014527.
