Experience of working with vulnerable adults or young people is useful but not essential.

Main duties include:
• Support, assist and ensure the person understands their rights and the police processes while in custody.
• To ensure the health, well-being, legal rights and entitlements of the vulnerable young person whilst in custody are in accordance with PACE.
• To assist with communication between the detained person and the police.
• To discuss with the Custody Officer any concerns and requests arising from the call-out and bring to the custody officer’s attention any issue that needs to be dealt with.

We are looking for volunteers living within a 12 mile radius of Bridgwater Custody Unit.

Training will be provided – the next training date is Wednesday 14th June.
